     So you’re a runner and you have a problem touching your toes. It is ok and there is nothing for you to be ashamed of. Winter, is the best time for you to put the weights down and give yourself a good stretch. Practice some yoga and improve your strength, flexibility, and mental focus. Yoga for runners, is a way to recap on rather your making results in your life or just working hard to look impressive. Here are some reasons for you to practice yoga and give your life the balance that you’ve been looking for. 

  • Mental Focus

     We all need to work hard, but sometimes working hard disrupts our mental focus. It can disrupt our ability to make the “right moves.” Yoga teaches you to focus on what you can do. Do not focus on what someone’s else has. What that person has nothing to do with what you can have. Yoga teaches you to be patient and think about your actions produces the right results. It is not always about how hard you work. Sometimes, it is about where you choose to work in the first place. 

  • Flexibility

     Need to stretch and rotate those annoying parts in your body. No problem with yoga for runners. As a runner, you find yourself getting stiff in your heels. You need appropriate flexing to pop that heal back in place. Maybe it's your back or your neck that needs serious improvement. Yoga allows your body to work out the nasty kinks that seem to hold you back while your running. You need your body to be willing to keep going when its tired. Yoga can kick out the kinks to keep your body moving at a constant pace. 

  • Avoid Injury


     Runners who practice yoga can stop being so competitive. That competitive nature wants you to push and push even when you are really tired. That nature needs to stop in order for your body to properly heal itself. If you have a tight spot you would like to focus on to run better, take time out of your life to practice a little bit of yoga. When the big runs come, it will pay off to rotate different parts of your body slowly to balance the joining limbs of your body. You need each part working effectively and without damaging itself.
